Midway’s Crisis

Terrible Video Games has a good post up about Midway’s recent failures and how it has arrived at its recent losses. I recommend checking it out, as it spells out Midway’s mistakes in a clear and entertaining manner. It also ties into yesterday’s post about Batman, as Midway’s “Hail Mary” project Mortal Kombat vs. DC is another example of Warner Bros. Interactive leveraging their properties to build their publishing stable. Whether MKVSDC is a hit with gamers on not, WBI has already gotten paid for their involvement. If it’s a hit, they’ll reap even more money. If it’s a dud, it’s Midway who will be left holding the bag.
